Doncaster South CLC have recently published a report and case study on a pilot project using a combination of
O2 XDA IIs smart phones and
RedHalo within a secondary school.
The project was launched in September 2006 to deliver the OCR Nationals ICT qualification to KS 4 students.
The pilot identified "vast benefits afforded by the employment of mobile technologies to support learning and the personalisation of learning service".
The report shows the benefit of devices that have multiple means for connectivity, in this case both Wi-Fi and GPRS.
