Many thanks to those who have made submissions to present at this years conference. The standard has, as always, been very high and we are working through them.
Due to the large number of academic research papers we are receiving we have decided to take an additional conference area and add a "Research Strand" to the conference that will run concurrently and will be covered by the same delegate fee with all the associated benefits. Full details of this strand will be announced shortly along with submission deadline. Those who have already submitted can either re-submit or we may allocate relevant proposals to this strand.
Themes for the strand will be in keeping with the general theme of the conference and we'll be seeking research presentations in the areas of learning using mobile or ubiquitous technologies, so from mobile phones to gaming consoles to web technologies such as virtual worlds, social networking and media sharing.
This year, it is expected that our proceedings will have an ISBN number and the publication will be made available to the general public for a fee although delegates will receive a free copy.
Once we have announced the full details of the research strand, it is likely that we will also announce a second call for presentation proposals.
Finally, due to our decision to make the awards event more socially focussed and celebratory we will be extending the nomination period to give those who are currently busy with the exam period the opportunity to make their nominations.
