Forum member "epokh" came out against social networking environments such as Facebook, Bebo and MySpace in another thread here:

/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,58/topic,1296.0

But what about such systems that have proven so popular with vast populations of web users (stats here)?

Users of a broad age group have shown desire and aptitude to use the tools provided by such sites to construct their own pages to tell the world about themselves.

Can these skills, techniques and motivations be embraced to bring improvements to learning?

I'm uploading some material about social networks on my slideshare  account .

The mathematic involved is fairly simple but sometimes requires some backend knowledge (like kuramoto oscillators took from other disciplines) and notation is fairly simple.
Well the reader can quickly jump to the results and see the interesting properties of the social networks. Roll Eyes

I will update constantly with my reading.

I don't want to make any other personal statement on social network my interest is more on the dynamical properties rather then the learning ones.
